Conversations with Waldorf Teachers

Many years ago, I wrote a grant to provide Waldorf schools with funds to hire a “Master Teacher” to assist as a guide and mentor to each Waldorf school in the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America. This grant was part of a program to start a “teaching guild” in each school for Apprentices, Journeyman Teachers, and Master Teachers. Usually, the Master Teacher was one who had taught for many years and had a great deal of experience in Waldorf and decades of experience studying Anthroposophy. This program was quite a success, so we created other programs and grant funding to help Waldorf public charter schools and independent schools inspired by the Waldorf curriculum.

After starting these programs, which have continued to this day in many schools, I realized that homeschool teachers also needed help from Master Teachers. Therefore, we wrote The Spirit of Childhood, The Eternal Curriculum for Wisdom Children: Intuitive Learning and the Etheric Body, Intuitive Learning: Activating the Well-springs of Giftedness, and The Eternal Ethers: A Theory of Everything, to be able to provide help to teachers in the classroom.

We also realized that some teachers don’t have much time or the money for books. Thus, we started this site, EternalCurriculum.com, to provide free access to most Rudolf Steiner education books and instructional videos on Waldorf topics. We were sad to see that several online Waldorf Teacher Training program are as expensive as attending a college program. We created an online, self-directed program for those interested in developing their understanding of Anthroposophy and Waldorf Education. Click on the headline below to find out more:

Anthroposophical Studies and Steiner’s Eternal Curriculum

Recently, we were approached by an independent school that is inspired by Waldorf Education. The teachers asked me to join their faculty meeting to study The Eternal Ethers, so that they would have a better understanding of what it means to ‘teach the etheric body of the student from age 7-14.’ We also addressed challenging questions the teachers brought to the meeting and discussed many other things. This direct communication with an entire school of teachers seems to work quite well. We will be continuing this type of work based upon demand. We are committed to spreading Anthroposophy and Waldorf Education in all ways possible and hope that the true heart of Waldorf education thrives with the help we have offered, and continue to offer to schools sincerely studying Rudolf Steiner’s educational ideas.
